Construction of 1X500MW HVDC Back to Back Station at Comilla North (Bangladesh) for Transfer of power through Surjamaninagar (India)-Comilla North (Bangladesh)

The People’s Republic of Bangladesh has applied for financing from the Asian Development Bank toward the cost of SASEC Third Bangladesh India Electrical Grid Interconnection Project. Part of this financing will be used for payments under the contract named below. Bidding is open to Bidders from eligible source countries of the ADB.

The Power Grid Company of Bangladesh Ltd. (“the Employer”) invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the following package:

Construction of 1X500MW HVDC Back to Back Station at Comilla North (Bangladesh) for Transfer of power through Surjamaninagar (India)-Comilla North (Bangladesh)

The scope of work covered under the subject Package is given below:

Completely operational 1x500MW back-to-back HVDC station at North Comilla (Bangladesh) and shall include the overall project management, studies, engineering, design, transfer of technology, training of Employer’s design, maintenance and operational personnel; manufacture, factory testing, supply of all items, delivery to the Sites, unloading, storing, handling, and moving into final position, installation, testing, commissioning and placing in successful commercial operation of the complete HVDC back-to-back link.

The above scope of work is indicative only and the detailed scope of work is given in Part-II: Employer’s Requirement of the Bidding Documents, which are available for inspection and sale as stated herein.

The completion period for above Package is Thirty (30) months from effective date of Contract.

Open Competitive Bidding – International will be conducted in accordance with ADB’s Two-Stage bidding procedure and is open to all bidders from eligible countries as described in the Bidding Document.
