Item Description:

Assisting 80 million people in around 80 countries each year, the World Food Programme (WFP) is the leading humanitarian organization fighting hunger worldwide, delivering food assistance in emergencies and working with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience.

The website freerice.com is a web-based trivia game with 600,000 users monthly. When players answer a question correctly in the game, a sponsor message is shown below the correct answer. This sponsored message supports Freerice and triggers a financial payment to the World Food Programme’s efforts in saving and changing lives worldwide.

Freerice exists to increase the visibility and awareness of WFP’s work through an engaging and educational game that teachers and students worldwide play. Sponsor messages that appear on the site must be high-quality, rigorously screened, and only used to support Freerice’s efforts in generating awareness of and funds for the work of the WFP.

World Food Programme is soliciting expressions of interest from qualified suppliers involved in the provision of sponsorship platforms. The aim is to provide vetted, high-quality sponsors for the game as it is re-launched in 2019.

The successful sponsorship platform should offer the following features:

• Rigorous vetting of all sponsors and a reputation for high quality;
• Fine-grained content filtering and very specific quality control for all sponsors — at the platform level — without intervention from the end user beyond setting initial parameters;
• Real time reporting systems for any unacceptable sponsors that have made it through all existing vetting systems;
• Fast, modern javascript and mobile SDKs for easy integration;
• A wide range of successful ad formats, including video and game-based ad formats and “rewarded formats” linked to in-game achievements with high CPMs;
• Access to all major ad exchange platforms on the market;
• A reliable and modern inventory management platform for in-house campaigns and inventory space;
• Full header bidding compatibility;
• Excellent reporting and analytics tools;
• Worldwide ad exchanges in as many markets as possible;
• A competitive platform fee so as to ensure maximum revenue to WFP as a result of sponsorship;
• Full compliance with international best practices on ad safety & transparency (IATB, GDPR, and all COPPA-related restrictions).

Response

In order to participate in the pre-selection exercise, companies are required to provide the following:

• Confirmation of interest in being considered for the delivery of the above items;
• Company description and brief summary of experience in the required business (max 2 pages);
• No financial proposal is required at this stage.

Upon receipt of a positive response, WFP may proceed with the next steps to engage a vendor.
