    Item Description:

    The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) was founded in 1991 to create a new post-Cold War era in central and eastern Europe, furthering progress towards ‘market-oriented economies and the promotion of private and entrepreneurial initiative’. The EBRD is owned by 67 countries from five continents, as well as the European Union and the European Investment Bank.

    State Enterprise “Sanitary Cleaning of Urban Areas of Kulob” (the “Company”) intends using the proceeds of a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the Bank) and of a grant for a project to improve and expand the solid waste collection and transportation network in the city of Kulob and adjacent villages. The proposed project, which has a total estimated cost of USD 4 million equivalent, will require the procurement of the following goods, works and services:

    • Construction of new landfill
    • Rehabilitation of old landfill
    • Construction of new depot and operational facilities
    • Rehabilitation of waste container platforms
    • Waste Containers
    • Specialised vehicles and machinery
    • Information Technology software and hardware

    Tendering for the above contracts is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2019.

    Contracts to be financed with the proceeds of a loan from the Bank will be subject to the Bank’s Procurement Policies and Rules and will be open to firms from any country. The proceeds of the Bank’s loan will not be used for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, or for any import of goods, if such payment or import is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations or under a law of official regulation of the Purchaser’s country.
