Item Description:
The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to provide the United Nations (UN) Office for information and Communications Technology Division (OICT) and UN Global Service Center (UNGSC) with the latest knowledge and capabilities of the market with respect to latest technologies, solutions, systems, potential vendors with respect to the provision of leased satellite bandwidth providing worldwide coverage in the C band.
The gathered information will be used to determine the technologies feasibility, scope, cost estimate, timeframe, and resources required by the UN.
UN expects to follow this RFI with a Request for Proposal (RFP) for satellite communications solutions that will be able to meet the operational requirements of the Office Away from Headquarters (OAH), the United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC) and both Peacekeeping and Political missions worldwide. UN requires approximately 400 MHz of leased satellite bandwidth in the C band that will provide worldwide coverage and provisioned exclusively through the satellites owned by the vendor.
