General Procurement Notice for Zagreb County Water Project

Item Description:

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) was founded in 1991 to create a new post-Cold War era in central and eastern Europe, furthering progress towards ‘market-oriented economies and the promotion of private and entrepreneurial initiative’. The EBRD is owned by 67 countries from five continents, as well as the European Union and the European Investment Bank.

Vodoopskrba i odvodnja Zagrebačke županije d.o.o., has applied for a loan in the amount of up to EUR 9 million to co-finance the Company’s following investment program financed by the EU Cohesion Funds:

• EUR 91 million investments into construction and upgrade of water-supply system in the Zagreb County, and
• EUR  20 million investments into construction and upgrade of wastewater infrastructure in the City of Vrbovec including construction of a wastewater treatment plant.

Vodoopskrba i odvodnja Zagrebačke županije d.o.o will be the implementing body. The Bank intends to co-finance the following contracts:

Water-supply system in Zagreb County

• Project design  and supervision
• Upgrade of basic water supply system
• Water supply infrastructure construction
• Supply of operational and maintenance equipment

Waste-water infrastructure in Vrbovec agglomeration

• Project design and supervision
• Expansion of the existing sewage network
• Construction of Vrbovec agglomeration waste-water treatment plant
• Supply of operational and maintenance equipement

Tendering for contracts has begun in the last quarter of 2018. Contracts to be financed with the proceeds of the loan from the Bank are publicized on the Electronic Public Procurement Classifieds of the Republic of Croatia website (https://eojn.nn.hr) and where applicable in the Official Journal of the European Union and shall be subject to the laws of the country. EBRD Procurement Policies and Rules do not apply to these contracts and no tender notice shall be published on EBRD’s website.
