Provision of Group Conference and Accommodation Services to the UN Agencies in South Africa

The World Health Organization (hereinafter called WHO), on behalf of the United Nations in South Africa (hereinafter called UN) intends to enter into a contractual agreement in a form of a Long Term Contract (LTA) with successful bidders and select suitable contractors to carry out the following work: Provision of Group Conference and Accommodation Services to the UN Agencies in South Africa.

The UN in South Africa is represented by seventeen agencies namely, UNDP, FAO, WHO, UNFPA, UNDSS, UNAIDS, OHCHR, UNEP, UNIC, UNWOMEN, UNODC, ILO, IOM, WFP,UNICEF, UNHCR and UNIDO.

The World Health Organization was established in 1948 as a specialized agency of the United Nations. The objective of WHO (www.who.int) is the attainment by all peoples of the highest possible level of health. “Health”, as defined in the WHO Constitution, is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. WHO’s main function is to act as the directing and coordinating authority on international health work.

On behalf of the United Nations South Africa, WHO will be leading the process of signing the LTA agreement/s with successful service providers, this agreement will be shared will all UN Agencies represented in South Africa, under special circumstances, the agreement will be extended to the Regional Offices and Headquarters.

A non-compulsory briefing session will be held on Thursday, 30 May 2019. You are required to express your confirmation of attendance in writing to afwcozaprocurement@who.int the details will be shared on the response email.

This letter is not to be construed in anyway as an offer to contract with any firm.

WHO reserves the right to accept or reject any proposal and to annul the selection process and reject all proposals at any time prior to contract award, without thereby incurring any liability to affected Service Providers.
