BP-100™ RUTF
BP-100™ is a Ready-to-Use therapeutic food (RUTF) in the form of a compressed biscuit/bar. It is used in the treatment of Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) in children and adults. BP-100™can be consumed as it is or crumbled into boiled drinking water and eaten as a porridge.
Nutritional qualities
BP-100™ is a compressed Ready-to-Use Therapeutic food (RUTF) for treatment of severe acute malnutrition in children and adults. The composition follows the WHO/WFP/UNSSCN/UNICEF joint statement on Community-based Management of Severe Acute Malnutrition. One 57 g bar of BP-100 contains 300 kcal. BP-100™ can be eaten as a biscuit directly from the pack, accompanied by clean drinking water, or crumbled into boiled drinking water and eaten as a porridge. The number of bars required per day depends on the weight of the person, e.g. 2 bars per day for a 3 kg child and approximately 10 bars per day for a 30 kg adult.

The shelf life of BP-100™ is 4 years. This enables organizations to make long-term planning and establish preparedness stocks. The optimal logistical properties secure an easy, safe and efficient transportation, distribution, usage and storage under extreme conditions.
