Construction of Water Supply and Public Sanitation Works in Sanamxay District, Attapeu Province

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) was conceived in the early 1960s as a financial institution that would be Asian in character and foster economic growth and cooperation in one of the poorest regions in the world.

ADB assists its members, and partners, by providing loans, technical assistance, grants, and equity investments to promote social and economic development.

The Lao People’s Democratic Republic has received financing from the Asian Development Bank toward the cost of the Water Supply and Sanitation Sector Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract named above. Bidding is open to Bidders from eligible source countries of ADB.

The Ministry of Public Works and Transport through its Department of Water Supply invites sealed bids from eligible Bidders for the undertaking of water supply and public sanitation works in Sanamxay District, which includes:

1. construction of a river intake with capacity 3,400m3/day
2. supply and laying 200m raw water transmission pipe
3. a new complete water treatment plant of capacity 3,400m3/day with allowances for lamella technology and a pre-sedimentation tank, a sludge pumping well, and detention pond
4. construction of 650m3 clear water ground reservoir with high lift pumping station, elevated water reservoir of 550m3 at WTP
5. supply and laying of 43.5 Km new distribution mains with HDPE (DN110-250), 121 Km new rider mains with HDPE DN63 within ten (10) core villages, and 2,008 household connections
6. construction of two District Metering Areas (DMAs)
7. Build BNP office and storage
8. supply and install CCTV cameras system for monitoring
9. construction of access roads to intake area; and
10. new construction of 19 public toilets.
