Construction of new Mumbwa 33/11kv substation and 33kv,400v distribution line and PMTS for electrification of Chibuluma, Chipa and Kabalwa in Mumbwa district

This Invitation for Bids (IFB) follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for this Project that appeared in United Nations Development Business online (UNDB online) of 22 March 2013 and on the African Development Bank’s Internet Website (www.afdb.org).

The Government of The Republic of Zambia has received a loan from the African Development Bank (AfDB) in various currencies towards the cost of Construction of the New Mumbwa 33/11kV Substation and 33kV,400V Distribution Line and Pole Mounted Transformers (PMTs) for electrification of Chibuluma, Chipa and Kabalwa in Mumbwa District. It is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for the Construction of the New Mumbwa 33/11 kV Substation and 33kV,400V Distribution Lines & PMTs for electrification of Chibuluma, Chipa and Kabalwa in Mumbwa District.

ZESCO Limited now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the Construction of the New Mumbwa 33/11kV substation and 33kV,400V Distribution Lines and PMTs for electrification of Chibuluma, Chipa and Kabalwa in Mumbwa District (hereinafter called “the Facilities”). International Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with the Bank’s Rules and Procedures for Procurement of Goods and Works and specifically, through Single Stage Bidding Procedures.

Qualifications requirements are provided in the bidding document.

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding documents at the address given below from 08:00 to 12:30 hours and from 14:00 to 16:30 hours (local time) respectively Monday to Friday.
