Hydrological survey and drilling of 28 boreholes for livestock programme in the Shiselweni (16 boreholes) and Lubombo (12 boreholes) Regions of Swaziland

Item Description:

This tender contains the specifications for the hydrological surveys and the drilling of 28 boreholes in two lots: Shiselweni (16 boreholes) and Lubombo (12 boreholes) regions. A second phase or tender will consider the installation of solar powered submersible pumps, solar panels and reservoir tanks for the successful boreholes.

The Contractor awarded with the agreement for each lot in the Shiselweni and Lubombo regions of Swaziland, shall provide all labor, transport, plant, tools, equipment and materials and appurtenances, and shall perform all Works necessary to satisfactorily locate sites for drilling, construct and complete successfully drilled boreholes including lowering of borehole assembly with PVC casing and Screen and end cap, gravel pack at appropriate intervals and back fill, close near surface water table aquifer, cleaning and development of said boreholes, pump test for 6 hours, chlorinate borehole and water quality testing both chemical and biological in accordance with this specification and to any further details as may be ordered by

FAO. Please note that FAO will only pay for successful drilled boreholes. Expenses for unsuccessful boreholes (dry or uncompleted) as defined in Appendix A, will not be paid or reimbursed by FAO.
