Item Description:
This Invitation for Bids (IFB) follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for this Project that appeared in United Nations Development Business online (UNDB online) No. [insert number] of 27th January 2015, and on the African Development Bank’s Internet Website (www.afdb.org).
The Government of the Republic of Zambia has received a loan from the African Development Fund (ADF) in various currencies towards the cost of implementing the Support to Science and Technology Education Project (SSTEP). It is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to eligible payments under the contracts for: The Supply, Delivery, Installation and Commissioning of various Laboratory Equipment for University of Zambia in Lusaka; the Supply, Delivery and Installation of various Electrical Workshop Equipment for St. Mawaggali Trades Training Institute in Choma; and the Supply, Delivery and Installation of various Library Equipment for NORTEC in Ndola.
The Ministry of Higher Education now invites sealed Bids from eligible bidders for Lot 1: The Tender for the Supply, Delivery, Installation and Commissioning of various Laboratory Equipment for University of Zambia; Lot 2: The Tender for the Supply, Delivery and Installation of various Electrical Workshop Equipment for St. Mawaggali Trades Training Institute; and Lot 3: The Tender for the Supply, Delivery and Installation of various Library Equipment for NORTEC (hereinafter called “the Goods”). Interational Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with the Bank’s Rules and Procedures for Procurement of Goods and Works.
Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding documents at the office of The Head, Procurement and Supplies Unit, Ministry of Higher Education, P.O. A complete set of Bidding Documents may be purchased by interested bidders upon the submission of a written application to the said Executing Agency, and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Kwacha Seven Hundred and Fifty only (K1,000.00) or in a freely convertible currency.
The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions are those of the Bank’s Standard BiddingDocument for Procurement of Goods.
Bids must be delivered to the above office on or before 10:30 hours on 18th December 2020 and must be accompanied by a security of K100,000 for Lot 1; K50,000 for Lot 2; and K25,000 for Lot 3 respectively.
Bids shall remain valid for 120 days after the deadline for bid submission prescribed above.
Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at 10:30 hours on 18th December 2020, at the offices of the Ministry of Higher Education, Ground Floor, Maxwell House, Los Angeles Boulevard, Longacres, LUSAKA.
