Procurement of Plant – Design, Supply, Installation, Testing & Commissioning of 220kV Overhead and Underground Transmission Lines (Lot-I & II)

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) was conceived in the early 1960s as a financial institution that would be Asian in character and foster economic growth and cooperation in one of the poorest regions in the world.

ADB assists its members, and partners, by providing loans, technical assistance, grants, and equity investments to promote social and economic development.

The Islamic Republic of Pakistan has received financing from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) toward the cost of Second Power Transmission Enhancement Investment Program – Tranche 2. Part of this financing will be used for payments under the contract named above. Bidding is open to Bidders from eligible source countries of ADB.

The National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC) (“the Employer”) invites sealed bids from eligible Bidders for the following works and services (“the Facilities”):

1. Lot-I:  220kV Double Circuit Transmission Line on Twin Bundle AAAC “Greely” conductor for looping In/Out of the proposed Hala Road Jamshoro 220kV S/C transmission line at Mirpur Khas New (approx. 67 km)
2. Lot-II:  220kV Double Circuit Transmission Line for Looping In/Out of One Circuit of Existing Jamshoro – T.M. Khan Road 220kV D/C T/L at Hala Road 220kV G/S
   • Part-I 220kV Double Circuit on twin bundle AAAC “Greely” conductor overhead transmission line on steel poles (approx. 21km)
   • Part-II 220kV Underground Transmission Line (approx. 3km)

The works mainly include design, manufacturing, delivery, installation, testing, commissioning and completion of works and services on turnkey basis, as detailed and specified in the Bidding Document.

Bidders may bid for one or more than one Lot/s, as further defined in the Bidding Document. Bidders wishing to offer discounts in case they are awarded more than one contract will be allowed to do so provided those discounts are included in the Letter of Bid.

The Lot-wise Time for Completion from the Effective Date as described in the Bidding Document shall be as follows:

1. Lot-I  540 days
2. Lot-II  540 days
