Item Description:
The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) was created by the United Nations General Assembly on 11 December 1946, to provide emergency food and healthcare to children in countries that had been devastated by World War II. In 1950, UNICEF’s mandate was extended to address the long-term needs of children and women in developing countries everywhere. In 1953 it became a permanent part of the United Nations System, and the words “international” and “emergency” were dropped from the organization’s name, making it simply the United Nations Children’s Fund, retaining the original acronym, “UNICEF”.
For its efforts to enhance solidarity between nations and reduce the difference between rich and poor states, UNICEF was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1965.

UNICEF Tanzania Country office is issuing Local Invitation to Bid for the supply & installation/ mounting of lifts for IVECO trucks.
Submission of Offers via the UNICEF e-submission portal
This tender is a part of UNICEF’s e-submission platform so all offers must be submitted online through the UNICEF e-submissions system accessible via http://www.ungm.org. As such, please ignore any standard instructions in this solicitation document concerning the submission of offers by email, fax or sealed envelope. No submission received by email, fax or hard copy will be accepted.
Questions from Bidders
As this tender is part of UNICEF’s e-submission platform, all questions from Bidders are expected to be submitted via the ‘Correspondence’ tab in the UNICEF e-submission system rather than by email or letter. As such, please ignore any standard instructions in this solicitation document regarding sending questions by email or post.
Bidders are required to keep all questions as clear and concise as possible.
Deadline for submission of queries: 4th January 2021 at 23:59 hrs East Africa time (GMT +3:00)
Bidders are also expected to immediately notify UNICEF in writing of any ambiguities, errors, omissions, discrepancies, inconsistencies or other faults in any part of the Solicitation Document or the notice on the UNICEF e-submission system, providing full details. Bidders will not benefit from such ambiguities, errors, omissions, discrepancies, inconsistencies or other faults.
UNICEF will compile the questions received. UNICEF may, at its discretion, at once copy any anonymized question and make its reply available to all Bidders in the UNICEF e-submission system and/or respond to the question at any bid conference. After any such bid conference, further clarifications may be prepared and made available on the UNICEF e-submission system.
Acknowledgement of receipt of Solicitation Document.
Finally, the UNICEF e-tendering system contains an opt in/opt out function to confirm whether or not.
