Item Description:
The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) or Banque Africaine de Développement (BAD) is a multilateral development finance institution. The AfDB was founded in 1964 and comprises three entities: The African Development Bank, the African Development Fund and the Nigeria Trust Fund. The AfDB’s mission is to fight poverty and improve living conditions on the continent through promoting the investment of public and private capital in projects and programs that are likely to contribute to the economic and social development of the region. The AfDB is a financial provider to African governments and private companies investing in the regional member countries (RMC).
Request for Expressions of Interest
The Government of the Republic of Malawi has received financing from the African Development Fund and the OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID) toward the cost of the Nkhata bay Town Water Supply and Sanitation Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds for this financing to payments under the contract for Mid-Term Review (MTR) of Nkhata Bay Town Water & Sanitation Project.
The Consultant will among other activities:
- Review of the project’s development objective
- Analyse implementation progress (IP) of the project
- Assess Institutional arrangement and performance
- Review the relevance of current monitoring indicators
- Assess the effective usage of the existing project documents
- Review any requirements and justifications for amendments of legal agreements in view of various changes brought about by project implementation
- Review project restructuring options where warranted
The overall effort of the consultant is estimated at 60 person days and the period of the assignment is 12 weeks.
The Northern Region Water Board now invites eligible interested consultants to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc).
Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the African Development Fund’s “Procurement Policy for Bank Group-Funded Operations, dated October 2015, which is available on the Fund’s website at http://www.afdb.org.
