Item Description:
The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) or Banque Africaine de Développement (BAD) is a multilateral development finance institution. The AfDB was founded in 1964 and comprises three entities: The African Development Bank, the African Development Fund and the Nigeria Trust Fund. The AfDB’s mission is to fight poverty and improve living conditions on the continent through promoting the investment of public and private capital in projects and programs that are likely to contribute to the economic and social development of the region. The AfDB is a financial provider to African governments and private companies investing in the regional member countries (RMC).
Invitation for Bids [IFB]
The Republic of Sudan has received financing from the African Development Bank Group (AfDB) hereinafter called the Bank toward the cost of the Improving Health Access and Systems Strengthening Project (IHASSP) and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for the Supply of Midwifery Bags. The Borrower shall process the payments using the Direct Payment disbursement method, as defined in the Bank’s Disbursement Guidelines andprocedures for Investment Project Financing.
The Federal Ministry of Health now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for the Supply of Midwifery Bags as below:

Bidding will be conducted through the Open Competitive Bidding (International), (OCBI) method as specified in the Bank’s Procurement Policy for Bank Group Funded Operations, dated October 2015, and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the Procurement Framework.
Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from Improving Health Access and Systems Strengthening Project (IHASSP) and inspect the bidding document during office hours Sunday to Thursday from 0900 to 1600 hours Sudan time at the address given below.
The bidding document in English Language may be purchased by interested eligible Bidders upon the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of SDG 5,000 (Five thousand Sudanese Pound) or its equivalent in a freely convertible currency. The method of payment will be cashier’s check, direct deposit to the following account number (0146919-2012-055) Central Bank of Sudan, Khartoum Branch. The document will be sent by airmail, courier services for overseas delivery and courier for local delivery.
All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of USD 10,000 or its equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency.
Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 1300 hours (Sudan Time) on Monday, 08th March 2021. Electronic Bidding will not be permitted. Late Bids will be rejected. Bids will be publicly opened in the presence of the Bidders’ designated representatives and anyone who chooses to attend at the address below at 1300 hours on Monday, 08th March 2021.
