    Item Description:

    The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) or Banque Africaine de Développement (BAD) is a multilateral development finance institution. The AfDB was founded in 1964 and comprises three entities: The African Development Bank, the African Development Fund and the Nigeria Trust Fund. The AfDB’s mission is to fight poverty and improve living conditions on the continent through promoting the investment of public and private capital in projects and programs that are likely to contribute to the economic and social development of the region. The AfDB is a financial provider to African governments and private companies investing in the regional member countries (RMC).

    Request for Expressions of interest

    The Republic of Botswana has received financial Grant from the African Development Bank towards the cost of the Consultancy Services for the Zambezi Integrated Agro – Commercial Development Project and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this grant to payments under the contract for Consultancy services for the Zambezi Integrated Agro – Commercial Development Project. Proceeds of the Grant are used exclusively for procurement of goods produced in, and services supplied from, the territories of the Member States of the African Development Bank.

    The services included under this project include: (i) updating the existing Feasibility Studies for the Project and include a feasibility of a reservoir along with an Environmental Impact Assessment as well as a complementary climate risk assessment; and (ii) if required thereafter, procure a Public Private Partnership Partner. The feasibility study update is expected to be completed within a period of nine (9) months and the private party procurement is expected to be completed in eleven (11) months (excluding approvals).

    The Ministry of Agricultural Development and Food Security (MoA), Department of Crop Production now invites eligible consultants to express their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may constitute joint-ventures to enhance their chances of qualification.
