Supply and Delivery of 4000 No. Prepaid Water Meters and Accessories

The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) or Banque Africaine de Développement (BAD) is a multilateral development finance institution. The AfDB was founded in 1964 and comprises three entities: The African Development Bank, the African Development Fund and the Nigeria Trust Fund. The AfDB’s mission is to fight poverty and improve living conditions on the continent through promoting the investment of public and private capital in projects and programs that are likely to contribute to the economic and social development of the region. The AfDB is a financial provider to African governments and private companies investing in the regional member countries (RMC).

The Malawi Government has received financing from the African Development Bank (AfDB) hereinafter called the Bank toward the cost of the Nkhata Bay Town Water and Sanitation Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for the Supply and Delivery of 4000 No. Prepaid Water Meters and Accessories. For this contract, the Borrower shall process the payments using the Direct Payment disbursement method, as defined in the Bank’s Disbursement Guidelines and Procedures for Investment Project Financing.

The Northern Region Water Board now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for the Supply and Delivery of 4000 No. Prepaid Water Meters and Accessories. These will be delivered at Kawiluwilu House in Mzuzu, Malawi within 120 days.

Bidding will be conducted through the Open Competitive Bidding (International), (OCBI) method as specified in the Bank’s Procurement Framework2 Procurement Policy for Bank Group Funded Operations – August 2015 and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the Procurement Framework.

Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from Northern Region Water Board, Kawiluwilu House, Bloemwater Street, Private Bag 94, Mzuzu, Malawi, Attention: The IPDC Chairperson, Attention Eng. Catherine Mwafulirwa, Email: mbewe08@yahoo.com and inspect the bidding document during office hours 8am to 4:30pm at the address given below.

The bidding document in English may be purchased by interested eligible Bidders upon the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of MK5,000. The method of payment will be cash. The Bidder shall be expected to collect the document from the Northern Region Water Board, Kawiluwilu House

Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 2pm on 18th October 2021. Electronic Bidding will not be permitted. Late Bids will be rejected. Bids will be publicly opened in the presence of the Bidders’ designated representatives and anyone who chooses to attend at the address below.

All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of US$25,000.
