    Item Description:

    The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) or Banque Africaine de Développement (BAD) is a multilateral development finance institution. The AfDB was founded in 1964 and comprises three entities: The African Development Bank, the African Development Fund and the Nigeria Trust Fund. The AfDB’s mission is to fight poverty and improve living conditions on the continent through promoting the investment of public and private capital in projects and programs that are likely to contribute to the economic and social development of the region. The AfDB is a financial provider to African governments and private companies investing in the regional member countries (RMC).

    Request for Expressions of Interest (REOI)

    The Government of the Republic of Sierra Leone has received financing from the African Development Fund (ADF) in the form of a grant towards the cost of the Kailahun – Koindu – Guinea – Liberia Border Roads Lot I: Kailahun – Buedu 25Km and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this grant to payment under a contract for consultancy services for the Supervision of Civil Works.

    The services under this project will include the supervision of daily activities of the contractor. The Consultant shall represent the interest of the Client with respect to the full execution of the contract agreement relating to the proper and satisfactory implementation of the civil works. The civil works encompass the rehabilitation of the Kailahun – Buedu (25km) road including provision of complimentary social infrastructure along the Project area. The civil works are expected to be carried out over a twenty- four (24) month period followed by a twelve (12) months defect liability period.

    The Sierra Leone Roads Authority (SLRA) now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may constitute joint ventures to enhance their chances of qualification.

    Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the African Development Bank’s “Procurement Policy and Methodology for Bank Group Funded Operations” (BPM), dated October 2015”, which is available on the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org. The SLRA is under no obligation to shortlist any consultant who expresses interest.

    Interested consultants may obtain further information at the address below during office hours Monday to Friday 0900 hours to 1700 hours.

    Expressions of interest must be delivered to the address below by 11th July 2022 at 1400hours and mention “Expression of Interest for: consultancy Services for Supervision of Civil Works for the Kailahun – Koindu – Guinea – Liberia Border Roads Lot I: Kailahun – Buedu 25Km.
