Consulting Services – Project Management

Item Description:

The Government of Bhutan has requested the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for technical assistance
(TA) to improve the competitiveness of the high-value agriculture and artisan products business
subsector and its support services to achieve a higher level of competitiveness in domestic and
export markets.

The TA is expected to directly benefit about 3,000 rural households and generate about 300
incremental employment opportunities in processing, packaging, marketing, and agritourism in
regional urban centers with a focus on the upstream value chain rather than on farming. The impact will be a broader and diversified economic and export base. The outcome will be enhanced competitiveness of prioritized high-value agriculture and artisan micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) clusters in domestic and export markets. High-value agriculture and artisan clusters will graduate to a higher level of competitiveness, with increased value capture by local MSMEs.

A consulting firm or a consortium of international and national firms will be engaged to provide consulting services and project management.
