The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) or Banque Africaine de Développement (BAD) is a multilateral development finance institution. The AfDB was founded in 1964 and comprises three entities: The African Development Bank, the African Development Fund and the Nigeria Trust Fund. The AfDB’s mission is to fight poverty and improve living conditions on the continent through promoting the investment of public and private capital in projects and programs that are likely to contribute to the economic and social development of the region. The AfDB is a financial provider to African governments and private companies investing in the regional member countries (RMC).
Invitation for Bids [IFB]
The Government of Rwanda has received financing from the African Development Bank hereinafter called the Bank toward the cost of the Rwanda Sustainable Water and Sanitation Program, and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for the Construction of Kivu Belt Water Supply System (Phase I). For this contract, the Borrower shall process the payments using the Direct Payment disbursement method as defined in the Bank’s Disbursement Guidelines and procedures for Investment Project Financing.
The Water and Sanitation Corporation (WASAC Ltd) now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for the Construction of Kivu Belt Water Supply System (Phase I). The works include General Preliminary works, Construction of raw water intake, water treatment plant of 13,000m3/day, concrete Tanks and Pressure Breakers, inspection chambers and water points, Supply and laying of pipes of 124km and Construction and installation of pump station.
The works will be executed in Rutsiro District and Karongi Districts, Western Province for a period of 18 months. Defect liability period: 12 months.
Bidding will be conducted through the Open Competitive Bidding (International), OCBI procedures as specified in the Bank’s Procurement Framework (Procurement Policy for Bank Group Funded Operations dated October 2015) and is open to all eligible Bidders as defined in the Procurement Framework.
