Item Description:
The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) was created by the United Nations General Assembly on 11 December 1946, to provide emergency food and healthcare to children in countries that had been devastated by World War II. In 1950, UNICEF’s mandate was extended to address the long-term needs of children and women in developing countries everywhere. In 1953 it became a permanent part of the United Nations System, and the words “international” and “emergency” were dropped from the organization’s name, making it simply the United Nations Children’s Fund, retaining the original acronym, “UNICEF”.
For its efforts to enhance solidarity between nations and reduce the difference between rich and poor states, UNICEF was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1965.

UNICEF has now issued an Invitation to Bid in order to select a supplier for the Procurement of Hand Sanitizers:

General Description:
Alcohol-based hand sanitizer, with alcohol content of 75%. Bottle of 500ml capacity, with pump. Hand antisepsis for office/household use.
Technical specifications:
Alcohol hand sanitizer – portable hand antisepsis for personal use. Not causing skin irritation or allergies (no inclusion of colorants, dyes or perfumes). Product offered is fragrance free.
75% alcohol
Product must be in accordance with recommendations from WHO Guidelines on Hand Hygiene in Health Care
Bottle of 500ml content, plastic or equivalent, self-standing bottle equipped with pump.
Label includes considerations such as: Content, Batch number and expiry date, Directions for use, Warnings, and Storage considerations. Label should be in English, and optionally available in other languages as well (e.g. French.).
Unit of measure: One bottle (Ea)
