Construction of Suluova Wastewater and Stormwater Project

The Mission of the Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR) is to take forward the EU’s neighbourhood and enlargement policies, as well as coordinating relations with EEA-EFTA countries insofar as Commission policies are concerned. DG NEAR works closely with the European External Action Service and the line DGs in charge of thematic priorities.

DG NEAR helps to promote EU values, policies and interests in this region, and to contribute to developing the special relationship of the EU with its neighbouring countries.

Lot 1: Construction of Suluova Wastewater Treatment Plant

The works covered under this contract includes the construction of a new WWTP for Suluova within the border of allocated WWTP area and construction of treated wastewater discharge line to Tersakan Creek. Suluova WWTP shall be an activated sludge plant for nitrogen and phosphorus removal. Sludge stabilization shall be accomplished within the activated sludge tanks as part of the extended aeration process. Suluova WWTP is designed as a single stage plant which serve to 30.064 p.e. for 2033 and 42.950 p.e. for 2048. Daily average flow rate of the plant to be constructed shall be 10,098 m3/day. Lot 1 work will be implemented under ‘FIDIC Conditions of Contract for Plant and Design-Build’ (FIDIC Yellow Book First Edition 1999). This Contract includes the design and construction of the second stages of the WWTP. Additionally,the Contractor will also be responsible for start-up of the plant, commissioning, operational training of the End Recipient’s personnel and hand-over to the Municipality of the complete WWTP ready for operation.

Lot 2: Construction of Suluova Stormwater Network

The scope of works consists of construction of approximately 25,510 m stormwater lines (approx. 23,686 m stormwater network made up of Φ300-1000 mm concrete/reinforced concrete lines and approx. 1,824 m stormwater network made up of box culverts with inner dimensions 1.00×1.00, 1.50×1.00 m and 2.50×1.00 m); construction of approx. 345 m of special crossing of culvert, river, highway etc. by pipe-jacking and/or horizontal drilling; supply, installation and construction of 894 gully connection lines; construction of 596 manholes of which 19 manholes are special type RC manholes; preparation of stormwater network as-built plans for constructed system. Lot 2 work will be implemented under ‘FIDIC Conditions of Contract for Construction for Building and Engineering Works Designed by the Employer’ (FIDIC Red Book First Edition 1999).
