Item Description:
. The website will support the Secretariat’s communications objectives, provide timely access to news, conference schedules and event information, and strengthen public access to authoritative UNFCCC information across web, mobile and connected channels.
Indicative scope includes front-end design and development, a decoupled/headless architecture consuming structured content via API, editorial and publishing workflow support, conference and calendar information services, accessibility, digital sustainability and performance optimisation, SEO/GEO and AI-mediated discoverability, analytics and feedback mechanisms, and post-launch maintenance and support including 24/7 coverage during major UNFCCC conferences.
This requirement is technically interdependent with, but procured separately from, the UNFCCC headless CMS platform procurement (ongoing in parallel). The selected vendor will be expected to work in close coordination with the CMS provider once appointed. Vendors are not required to have a relationship with any specific CMS vendor to respond to this EOI.
Participation in this solicitation is open exclusively to legally registered companies with demonstrated experience delivering comparable enterprise website design, development and implementation projects. Proposals from individual contractors or sole proprietorships will not be considered.
The anticipated contract will cover discovery, design, development, implementation, and post-launch maintenance and support.
This requirement will be solicited by way of a Request for Proposal (RFP). The scope requires vendors to propose their own methodology, technical approach, team composition and alternative solutions. This EOI is a market-sounding exercise only and does not itself constitute the RFP.
The headless CMS platform has not yet been selected; a live competitive process is underway and several platforms remain in contention. Vendors are not being asked to commit to one platform now. Vendors will instead be asked, at the solicitation stage, to demonstrate their approach and delivery capability across more than one major headless CMS platform, so that the appointed vendor can deliver against whichever platform is selected through the parallel process.
