Item Description:
The World Food Programme (WFP) is the world’s largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger. In emergencies, WFP gets food to where it is needed, saving the lives of victims of war, civil conflict and natural disasters. After the cause of an emergency has passed, WFP uses food to help communities rebuild their shattered lives. On average, WFP aims to reach more than 90 million people with food assistance in more than 70 countries. About 12,000 people work for the organization, most of them in remote areas, directly serving the hungry poor.
WFP is exploring new ways to address hunger and developing new systems, processes and tools to deliver assistance in our global operations. Distributing assistance in the form of cash or vouchers is one way the organization is expanding our programmatic toolbox. To enable this change WFP has developed an open-source platform called SCOPE that improves our distribution management as well as the delivery of new types of assistance like cash and vouchers.
SCOPE is a powerful and flexible data source that enables us to know better the people we serve so that we can offer the right help to the right people, supporting WFP and the millions of beneficiaries it serves across all of its countries. With this offer of endless possibilities for data beneficiary registration, the platform requires well-written technical manuals to ensure that the platform is used at its full potential, in the best possible way for the specific scenario and beneficiary. We envisage this platform to remain flexible enough to support the needs across WFP operations, its implementing partners and potentially host governments.
We require a service that offers a complete solution for our IT platform: from writing a clear technical manuals from scratch and/or to edit our existing manual. We require precision and accuracy with directed, short, user-friendly, consistent language. The manuals have to be well-written, so to be understandable to the intended user. The manuals have to be delivered to standard WFP specifications, so they should be written in English as it is the official UN working language. The possibility of being translated into other three official UN languages (French, Spanish, and Arabic) is highly valued.
WFP hereby seeks and invites to pre-qualify interested reputable manual writing services to express their interest by contacting WFP through the following dedicated e-mail address: hq.tenders@wfp.org not later than 30 January 2017 at 16:00 hours (Rome time). Eligible suppliers, who meet all of the pre-qualification criteria, may be invited to participate in a competitive tender exercise (RFP).
