Mobile Money Transfer Services in Somalia

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Office for Somalia (the Organization), intends to have certain services performed which are required for the implementation of its activities, and you are hereby invited to submit your Bid for the award of a contract for: “Mobile Money Transfer Services in Somalia, hereinafter referred to as “the Services”

Procedures

A certain number of firms is being invited to submit bids and this Organization intends, without having committed itself in any way to any of the firms it invites, to award the contract to the firm which it considers as having submitted the best bid;

To qualify for award of Contract, a bidder shall meet the following minimum qualifying requirements:

1. Legal registration in Somalia or have legal/government authorisation to perform mobile money transfer services in Somalia
2. Five (5) years of experience in mobile money transfer operations in general;
3. Evidence of at least one (1) contract similar in size, scope and duration to the Services, executed in the last three years in Somalia
4. Proven ability to disburse cash of a value between three and four million US Dollars per month;
5. Capacity to deliver mobile money to at least:

• Twenty (20) locations in at least six (6) of the nine (9) regions of South & Central Somalia as listed in Appendix A;
• Five (5) locations in Galgaduud region as listed in Appendix A;
• Five (5) locations in at least two (2) of the three (3) regions of Puntland as listed in Appendix A, and
• Ten (10) locations in at least three (3) of the five (5) regions of Somaliland as listed in Appendix A.
