Consultant Firm to support Research on Entrepreneurship Ecosystems Development in African Countries

The African Development Bank as part of the implementation of the activities of the Youth Entrepreneurship and Innovation Multi Donor Fund, established with initial contribution by Denmark and Norway, hereby invites Consulting Firms to indicate their interest in the following Assignment: Consultant Firm to support Research on Entrepreneurship Ecosystems Development in African Countries.

The services to be provided under the Assignment include: A study which will involve situational analysis to assess the development of entrepreneurship ecosystems with a focus on economic migration countries of origin in Africa. The study will examine the factors influencing the ability to build effective entrepreneurship ecosystems and the country specific circumstances at macro, meso and micro levels. Taking stock of the situation of countries entrepreneurship ecosystem, will help identify peculiar challenges, gaps, and opportunities and practical responses to inform targeted interventions by stakeholders. The research findings and recommendations will enable context specific solutions that will inform the implementation of the activities of the Youth Entrepreneurship and Innovation Multi Donor Trust Fund. It will also inform other AfDB investment operations, technical assistance and policy dialogue in Regional Member Countries.

The Human Capital Youth and Skills Development Department invites Consulting Firms to indicate their interest in providing the above-described services. Interested eligible Consulting Firms or associations of Consulting Firms shall provide information on their qualifications and experience demonstrating their ability to provide the services (documentation, references for similar services, experience in comparable Assignments, availability of qualified staff, etc.).

The eligibility criteria, the establishment of a short list and the selection procedure shall be in conformity with the Bank’s Rules and Procedure for the Use of Consultants under projects financed by the Bank Group, May 2008 Edition, revised on July 2012available on the Bank Website at http://www.afdb.org. Please, note that interest expressed by a Consulting Firm does not imply any obligation on the part of the Bank to include it in the shortlist. The estimated duration of services is six months and the estimated starting date is in December, 2018.
