Provision of Aviation Trainings

Item Description:

Assisting 91.4 million people in around 83 countries each year, the World Food Programme (WFP) is the leading humanitarian organization fighting hunger worldwide, delivering food assistance in emergencies and working with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience.

To achieve Zero Hunger and ensure food security for all, aviation services proved to be a vital tool in all emergency response, allowing the humanitarian community and relief supplies to reach the most remote and challenging areas, often connecting networks of warehouses and distant water, road and porter transport services.

For this reason, WFP is soliciting expressions of interest from qualified suppliers involved in the provision of external training services to provide WFP Aviation staff with the necessary skills, competencies and latest knowledge thus allowing them to operate in a timely and efficient manner for the benefits of the overall humanitarian community.

In particular, WFP would like to solicit interest from companies able to provide the following trainings:

Classroom Training Courses

• Safety Risk Management
• Airport Services – Passenger Handling
• Emergency Planning and Response for Airports and GSPs
• Human Factor in Ground Operations

Distance Learning Training Courses (or blended learning)

• Introduction to Safety Management Systems (SMS)
• Aviation Security Awareness
• Airline Customer Service
• Ground Operations Management
• Air Transport Fundamentals
• Cargo Introductory Course
• Basic Airside Safety
• Passenger Ground Services
• Airport Operations Fundamentals
• Introduction to the Airline Industry

In addition, WFP Aviation may seek proposals for the following training thematic areas:

• Aviation Security
• Airport Operations and Ground Handling
• Air Navigation
• Aviation Safety
• Customer Service
• Introduction to Aerodynamics
• Aircraft weight and balance
• Fuel and Refueling
• Aviation Law
• Air Transport Regulations
• Introduction to Air Transport Economics
• Weather / Meteorology

Response

In order to participate in the pre-selection exercise, companies are required to provide the following:

• Confirmation of interest in being considered for the delivery of trainings above subjects;
• Company description and brief summary of experience in the required business. Suppliers should demonstrate the ability to conduct technical standardized and customized trainings to WFP Aviation Staff in WFP Headquarter (Rome) and/or its decentralised Offices. (max 2 pages);
• No financial proposal is required at this stage.

Upon receipt of a positive response, WFP may proceed with the next steps to engage a vendor.
