Specific Procurement Notice for Southern African Regional Climate Information Services for Disaster Resilience Development Project

Item Description:

The main objectives of Southern African Development Community (SADC) are to achieve development, peace and security, and economic growth, to alleviate poverty, enhance the standard and quality of life of the peoples of Southern Africa, and support the socially disadvantaged through regional integration, built on democratic principles and equitable and sustainable development.

This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for this project that appeared in UNDB online AfDB 1062-09/18 of 27^th September 2018 online and on the African Development Bank Group’s Internet Website.

2.            The  SADC Secretariat has received Financing from the African Development Bank in EURO towards the cost of Southern African Regional Climate Information Services for Disaster Resilience Development Project (SARCIS DR Project). It is intended that part of the proceeds of this grant will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for Supply, Delivery, Installation and Commissioning of High-Performance Computers infrastructure to SADC Member States.

3.            The SADC Secretariat now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the Supply, configuration, delivery and installation and Commissioning of High Performance Computers Hardware comprising an HPC Server, UPS, Network Switch and Client Workstation at each of the National Meteorological and Hydrological Services in 14 SADC Member States.

4.            Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding documents at the office of SADC Secretariat Procurement Unit, Plot 54385, New CBD, Private Bag 0095 ,Gaborone, Botswana, Attention: Grem Salima, e-mail: gsalima@sadc.int.

5.            A complete set of bidding documents may be obtained by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the above. Interested bidders  can download the   set of bidding documents from SADC Website.

6.            The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions of Contract are the provisions of the African Development Bank Standard Bidding Document:  Procurement of Goods or Procurement of Works.

7.            Bids must be delivered to the above office on or before 1500hours CAT (Botswana time) on 31 January 2019.

8.           Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at 1500hours CAT (Botswana time) on 31 January 2019 at the offices of SADC Secretariat Procurement Unit,  Plot 54385, New CBD, Private Bag 0095 ,Gaborone, Botswana, The bids to be deposited in the Tender Box at the ReceptionGround Floor.
