Auki Water Supply Improvement (SW0042019)

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) was conceived in the early 1960s as a financial institution that would be Asian in character and foster economic growth and cooperation in one of the poorest regions in the world.

ADB assists its members, and partners, by providing loans, technical assistance, grants, and equity investments to promote social and economic development.

The Government of Solomon Islands has requested financing from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Sector Project (UWSSSP). Part of this financing will be used for payments under the Contract named above. This contract will be jointly financed by the European Union, the World Bank, and the ADB. The eligibility rules and procedures of the ADB will govern the bidding process. Bidding is open to Bidders from eligible source countries of the ADB.

The Solomon Water (SW- “the Employer”) invites sealed bids from eligible Bidders for upgrading of the Auki water supply system. The works include:

• new 1million liter steel liner tank and associated pump station;
• construction of a DN250 gravity main with a length of approximately 315m;
• construction of a DN180 rising (force) main with a length of approximately 304m;
• construction of a DN125 rising (force) main with a length of approximately 110m;
• rehabilitation of an existing storage tank including the supply and installation of a liner;
• installation of chlorination facilities at an existing water storage tank; and
• minor works including installation of security fences; and relocation of a diesel generator and associated control systems within the project site.

This tender supports the implementation of the UWSSSP, and this water supply system component is described as the “the Works” for purposes of this contract.

International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB’s Single- Stage: One-Envelope procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries as described in the Bidding Document.
