Supply of electricity to CERN for the powering of CERN’s accelerators, experiments, technical infrastructure and tertiary facilities

The European Organization for Nuclear Research, known as CERN, is a European research organization that operates the largest particle physics laboratory in the world. Established in 1954, the organization is based in a northwest suburb of Geneva on the Franco–Swiss border and has 23 member states

CERN intends to place a contract for the supply of electricity to CERN (1.3 TWh per year with 220 MW peak power, 10 min in average), via the French transmission network, for the powering of CERN’s accelerators, experiments, technical infrastructure and tertiary facilities.

The firm shall have a proven experience in electricity production, including several long-term contracts for the supply of electrical energy to large industrial plants with quality and quantity requirements comparable to CERN.
