Item Description:
This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for this project that appeared in UNDB online on 31st March 2017.
The Government of Kenya has received financing from the African Development Bank in various currencies towards the Kenya Towns Sustainable Water Supply and Sanitation Program.
It is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for Construction of Olkalou Sewerage System.
Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the execution of the above project.
The scope of works for the project includes but not limited to the following under one contract:
- Construction of secondary and tertiary sewers, diameter ranging between 200mm to 250mm total length 28.3 km, uPVC pipes;
- Construction of trunk sewers, diameter ranging between 315mm to 400mm total length 10.2 km, uPVC pipes;
- Construction of sewage treatment plant, capacity 3,300 m3/day comprising of 3 No. anaerobic ponds, 1 No. facultative pond and 2 No. maturation ponds, 1 No. sludge lagoon and site works;
- Construction of 1No Public Sanitation block within Olkalou Town;
- Sewer connectivity targeting 500 connections;
- Construction of 2 No. Composite filtration unit, capacity 600 m3/day each, for the existing Malewa water Supply system.
Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding documents at the office of the Chief Executive Officer, Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency, Maji Plaza, Prison Road, Off Nakuru – Eldama Ravine Highway, and P.O. Box 2451-20100 Nakuru, Kenya, during office hours (8.00am to 5.00pm East African Time) on week days except public holidays.
A complete set of bidding documents in soft copy (CD) may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the above and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of KES 1,000 (Kenya Shillings One Thousand Only).
The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions of Contract are the provisions of the African Development Bank Standard Bidding Document for Procurement of Works.
Bidders are invited for a Pre – Bid Meeting which will take place at Olkalou Water and Sewerage Services Company Offices in Olkalou town on 30th August, 2019 at 9.00 a.m. (East African Time) for any clarifications. Thereafter, Site Visits to the proposed sites will take place on the same day at 11.00am (East African Time).
Bids must be delivered to the below office on or before 12.00pm East African Time on 1st October, 2019 and must be accompanied by a security (Unconditional Bank Guarantee) of KES 4,000,000 (Kenya Shillings Four Million Only) or equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency. Bid should remain valid for 120 days from bid submission date.
