Consultancy Service For Geological Mapping

Item Description:

The Government of Mozambique has received financing from the World Bank towardthe cost of the Mining andGas Technical Assistance Project (MAGTAP), and intends to applypart of the proceeds for consulting services.

The consultingservices (“the Services”) include:detailed geological mapping of a series of twenty five (25) 1:50 000 mapsheets in the northeastern part of Mozambique.

The Ministry ofMineral Resources and Energy now inviteseligible consulting firms (“Consultants”) to indicate their interestin providing the Services. Interested Consultants should provide informationdemonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevantexperience to perform the Services. The shortlisting criteria are: (i) Experience in interpretation of high resolutionsatellite image, (ii) Experience ininterpretation of high density geophysical data (iii) Experience in detailedgeological mapping, and (iv)Experience in developing countries including Africa.

The attention of interestedConsultants is drawn to paragraph 1.9 of theWorld Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultantsunder IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants by World Bank Borrowers, January 2011 (“Consultant Guidelines”), settingforth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.

Consultants may associate with otherfirms in the form of a jointventure or a subconsultancy to enhance their qualifications. When expressinginterest in association consultants are encouraged to state the form ofassociation.

A Consultant will be selected in accordancewith the Quality and Cost based Selection (QCBS) method set out in theConsultant Guidelines.
