Consulting Services For Gender Mainstreaming (Indivindual Consultant)

The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) or Banque Africaine de Développement (BAD) is a multilateral development finance institution. The AfDB was founded in 1964 and comprises three entities: The African Development Bank, the African Development Fund and the Nigeria Trust Fund. The AfDB’s mission is to fight poverty and improve living conditions on the continent through promoting the investment of public and private capital in projects and programs that are likely to contribute to the economic and social development of the region. The AfDB is a financial provider to African governments and private companies investing in the regional member countries (RMC).

The Government of Namibia has received financing from the African Development Bank (AfDB) towards the cost of the Namibia Agricultural Mechanization and Seed Improvement Project (NAMSIP), and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this loan to payments under the contract for Consultancy Services for NAMSIP Gender awareness and mainstreaming.

The services included under this assignment are to Conduct training needs assessment, develop a Project training manual and a training plan; Develop a user-friendly training manual on gender mainstreaming; Advise and support project implementing partners on interventions required to ensure effective participation of women and men across all Project components; and Conduct training workshops on gender mainstreaming for the NAMSIP’s stakeholders with a view to create awareness on the importance of gender mainstreaming and support implementation of gender mainstreaming interventions in NAMSIP.

The consultancy will be delivered within a period of seven (7) calendar months, on full-time basis, as part of the NAMSIP Implementation Unit.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Forestry (MAWF) now invites eligible individual consultants to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (letter of motivation, curriculum vitae, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills etc.).

Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the African Development Bank’s “Procurement Framework for Bank Group Funded Operations, dated October 2015”, which is available on the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org.
