Provision of spraying/refurbishment of existing office furniture for the United Nations Offices at Nairobi (UNON), Kenya to support flexible work activities and collaborative team-work spaces within pilot zones at UNON, Kenya

The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) invites qualified firms to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to participate in the upcoming competitive bidding exercise for the spraying/restoration of existing furniture for the United Nations Offices at Nairobi (UNON), Kenya for a period of three years with possible extension to two consecutive years (3+1+1).

1. Background:

In Nairobi, UNON, is moving towards the changes offering a “Nairobi Flavour” of flexible workplace practices throughout the campus, both indoor and outdoor. UNON is currently in the process of developing flexible workplace strategies, including but not limited to, pilot programs for testing inspirational flexible workplaces with integrated modular meeting and collaboration zones, and thereafter further proposals to roll-out flexible workplace utilization within the renovated offices of the Secretariat buildings at the complex. The UNON complex comprises approximately 142 acres, 40 buildings of mixed office and commercial space and hosts approximately 50 UN agencies, funds and programs. The compound currently accommodates a population of approximately 3,500 staff in over 67,000 square meters of office, conference and common built space.

2. Scope of Work:

(a) Carefully dismantle existing furniture allocated for re-use in swing space zones and respray/refurbish as instructed and deliver/re-install refurbished furniture as specified in delivery program at UNON.
(b) Provide programming, and reconfiguration of refurbished furniture in coordination with in-house team. To include maintenance and servicing.

The refurbishment of existing office furniture, as well as the programming and planning layouts, shall be implemented in several phases,in coordination with the renovation works contractor and the in-house Project Team.

In this regard, UNON intends to contract a vendor(s) for the respray/refurbish the office furniture for the United Nations Offices At Nairobi (UNON), Kenya.The complete details of the requirement will be included in the tender document that will be issued subsequent to this EOI.

UNON invites companies to express their interest by filling out the vendor response form and sending it either electronically or via email. UNON reserves the right to change or cancel the requirement of this EOI at any time during the EOI and/or solicitation process. Submitting a reply to this REOI does not therefore automatically guarantee that your company will be considered for issuance of the solicitation documents. Only vendors who, in the UN’s sole discretion, are deemed eligible and qualified, upon completion of an objective evaluation of the EOI submissions, may receive the final tender solicitation documents.
