    Item Description:

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) was conceived in the early 1960s as a financial institution that would be Asian in character and foster economic growth and cooperation in one of the poorest regions in the world.

ADB assists its members, and partners, by providing loans, technical assistance, grants, and equity investments to promote social and economic development.

The Government of the Independent State of Papua New Guinea has received financing from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) toward the cost of the Building Resilience to Climate Change in PNG Project. Part of this financing will be used for payments under the Contract named above. Bidding is open to Bidders from eligible source countries of ADB. This contract will be jointly financed by Government of Australia. The eligibility rules and procedures of ADB will govern the bidding process.

The Milne Bay Provincial Government (“the Employer”) invites sealed bids from eligible Bidders for the construction and completion of the “Construction of Milne Bay Provincial Wharf” (“the Works”). The works involve the demolition and removal of the existing jetty and the construction of a new jetty. The new jetty will comprise tubular steel piles and a concrete deck incorporating precast and in-situ elements. The new facility will also include provision of a floating pontoon with access walkway from the jetty.

Open Competitive Bidding – International will be conducted in accordance with ADB’s procedure and is open to all bidders from eligible countries as described in the Bidding Document. Bidders must meet certain qualification criteria in order to be considered for award of the contract. The qualification criteria are described in detail in the bidding documents but include the following:
