Item Description:
This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for this project that appeared in 28th February 2019 [Ref AfDB266-02/19.
The Government of Kenya has received financing from the African Development Bank in in various currencies towards the cost of Nairobi Rivers Sewerage Improvement Program (PHASE II). It is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for Lot 4-Construction of East and West of Nairobi Reticulation Sewers.
The Athi Water Works Development Agency now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the execution of the following works:
a) Laying of 130 km Reticulation sewers in various areas of East and West of Nairobi, including, Karen, Uthiru, Kangemi, Ruaka, Mountain View, Westlands, Kilimani, Kilelelshwa, Ngara, Eastleigh, Huruma, Mathare North and Utawala;
b) Securing of Karen wastewater treatment plant and site ancillary works;
c) 3000 Household sewer connections in East and West of Nairobi areas.
A Prebid meeting and Site Visit will take place on 28th April, 2021 starting at 09:00am (East African Time). The venue for the Pre-Bid site visit meeting will be at the Athi Water Works Development Agency Offices, Athi Water plaza, Muthaiga North Road, Off Kiambu road, Nairobi.
Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding documents at the office of The Chief Executive Officer, Athi Water Works Development Agency, Athi Water Plaza , Muthaiga North Road, Off Kiambu Road P.O. Box 45283- 00100 Nairobi, Kenya, during office hours (8.00am to 5.00pm East African Time) on week days except public holidays.
A complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the above and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Kshs. 1,000 (Kenya Shillings One Thousand Only). The bidding documents may also be downloaded from the AWWDA website: http://www.awwda.go.ke or http://www.tenders.go.ke free of charge. Bidders who download the bidding documents from the website MUST forward their particulars immediately to procurement@awwda.go.ke for records and any further clarifications and addenda.
The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions of Contract are the provisions of the African Development Bank Standard Bidding Document: Procurement of Works.
A 10 % Total Bid Amount margin of domestic preference Shall apply.
Bids must be delivered to the above office on or before 12.00pm East African Time on 25th May, 2021 and must be accompanied by a Bid security (Unconditional Bank Guarantee) of KES. 2,000,000.00 (Kenya Shillings Two Million Only).
