Turn-key project for the Structural Restoration of the Existing Wooden Roof in the Cafeteria, Building no. 228 at GSC/UNLB Brindisi, Italy

Item Description:

The United Nations Global Service Center/United Nations Logistics Base (GSC), with its Headquarters located in Brindisi, Italy, seeks an appropriately qualified contractor for a Turn-key project for the Structural Restoration of the Existing Wooden Roof in the Cafeteria, Building no. 228 at GSC/UNLB Brindisi – Italy. The UNLB cafeteria is located in Building no.228 ground floor, presenting two main dining areas, one located inside the building and one that is covered by a wooden roof structure The compound offers canteen services for the entire base, occupying a surface of almost 1000 m2, including food preparation and dining areas. The facility is composed by two main areas (respectively ~175 m2 and ~180 m2), divided by an internal glazed door. The area covered by the wooden roof structure is not usable, as the wooden roof collapsed and it has currently being put in safety through temporary safety measures. The main purpose of this project is to perform works in order to structurally restore this area. The Contractor shall develop the design (based on the conceptual design provided by the UN) and implement the works (based on the UN approved design), including all subsequent documentation, services, labor, transport, materials, tools, equipment and plant required to implement and complete the proposed project. The Works/Services entail the below macro category activities: Executive/working design for the structural restoration of the roof structure, based on the concept design provided by the UN; Construction works necessary for the structural restoration of the existing roof, including all the required actions to safeguard existing systems (e.g. electrical, lighting, fire detection and HVAC), finishing, doors, windows; Test and Certifications. The Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment and materials required to perform the project, including all tests and certifications as per Italian Legislation in force. The full technical requirements and details will be provided with a formal solicitation document to be issued at a later stage soon after the closing date for this EOI.
