Item Description:
The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) or Banque Africaine de Développement (BAD) is a multilateral development finance institution. The AfDB was founded in 1964 and comprises three entities: The African Development Bank, the African Development Fund and the Nigeria Trust Fund. The AfDB’s mission is to fight poverty and improve living conditions on the continent through promoting the investment of public and private capital in projects and programs that are likely to contribute to the economic and social development of the region. The AfDB is a financial provider to African governments and private companies investing in the regional member countries (RMC).
Invitation for Bids (IFB)
The Government of Uganda has received financing from the AfDB hereinafter called the Bank toward the cost of the Farm Income Enhancement and Forest Conservation Programme – Project 2 (FIEFOC-2) and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Procurement of Rice Value Addition Equipment. Bidding process will be governed by the Bank’s Procurement Framework, dated 15 Oct 2015. For this contract, the Borrower shall process the payments using the Direct Payment disbursement method, as defined in the Bank’s Disbursement Guidelines and procedures for Investment Project Financing, except for those payments, which the contract provides to be made through Letter of Credit.
The Ministry of Water and Environment now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for Procurement of Rice Value Addition Equipment: 30No Threshers, 25No Rice Reapers and 5No Walking Tractors for the 5 Irrigation Schemes of Wadelai in Pakwach District, Tochi Irrigation Scheme in Oyam District, Mubuku II Irrigation Scheme in Kasese District, Doho II in Butaleja District and Ngenge Irrigation Scheme in Kwen District. Interested Bidders are at liberty to bid for Either 30No Threshers, and or 25No Rice Reapers; or 5No Walking Tractors; or all items. The delivery period for the resulting contract is 90 days and margin of preference is not applicable. Successful bidders shall be required to submit along with their bids copies of documents to prove their eligibility and demonstrate experience in successfully undertaking at least 2 contracts in the last 3 years that are similar to the proposed contract(s).
Bidding will be conducted through the Open Competitive Bidding (International), (OCBI) method as specified in the Bank’s Procurement Framework, and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the Procurement Framework.
