Design, supply, installation and maintenance of Passenger Lifts at UNON Complex, Nairobi

The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) invites suitably qualified firms to submit their Expressions of Interest (EOI) to participate in the upcoming competitive bidding exercise for design, supply, installation and maintenance of modern outdoor and energy efficient lifts to assist persons with disabilities including wheelchair users in vertical movements through several buildings at UN Compound in Gigiri, Nairobi – Kenya.

At the moment the buildings are not provided with any lift. The Contractor shall consist of highly qualified personnel, in terms of managers, engineers and technicians, to provide UNON with at least four (4) passenger lifts in compliance with the current international regulation and UNON requirements.

The works shall include but not limited to the following :

1. Design and construction of the lift shafts at various locations on site. For these works, the lead firm (lift supplier) will be required to engage a suitably registered (Minimum NCA-3) civil construction firm to carry out all associated civil works.
2. Engineering design of the whole system, including but not limited to, drawings and technical specifications for the structural frame/ glass, civil works, electrical supply, controls, alarms and relevant care.
3. Provision of a method statement outlining all important tasks, their duration, equipment/tools required for installation, commissioning and relevant safety precautions.
4. Provision of software and necessary license
