Scope of Supply

For the research programme in nuclear safeguards and security, the JRC is intending to procure ten (10) 3D laser scanners, which will be integrated in the safeguards surveillance systems developed by the CSNM project. Purpose of the 3D laser scanners The 3D laser scanners will be integrated in a nuclear safeguards surveillance system developed at JRC, the Laser Curtain for Containment and Tracking (LCCT). LCCT is an active, continuous surveillance system based on real-time laser scanners, which allows an automatic, event-based monitoring of nuclear facilities. It is a fixed installation based on multiple real-time laser scanners that continuously acquire depth information to monitor an area of interest. LCCT has been developed over recent years and is already operating in nuclear facilities.
