Supply of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and security equipment

Item Description:

The European Commission, Joint Research Centre, referred to below as the contracting authority, is planning to award the contract(s) resulting from the above procurement procedure. The procurement documents consist of the contract notice, the invitation letter, the draft contract and tender specifications with their respective annexes. All documents are available in the attached ZIP File.

Purpose

The purpose of this contract is to ensure the supply of equipment for personal protective equipment and safety equipment.

Description of the materials to be supplied

The supply of PPE (shoes, gloves, anti-noise head-phones, etc.) and security equipment is required for ensuring the protection of the workers during the multiple activities carried out by the various technical and scientific directorates located on JRC-Ispra site.

The products are divided per categories as following:

• Category 1 – Protective footwear

Products related to the present category include for example: HIGH/LOW shoes S1-S2-S3, SANDAL S1-S2-S3, Protective BOOTS, LONG/SHORT SOCKS, etc., certified according to the standards EN 345-1, EN 347-1, EN ISO 20345:2004, EN ISO 20347:2004 e EN ISO 20344:201, etc.

• Category 2 – Hand protection, respiratory systems

Products related to the present category include for example: various GLOVES made of leather, nitrile, cotton, polyurethane and cryogenic, NITRILE GLOVES of III Category, SURGICAL and FFP2-FFP3 MASKS and FILTERS for protection to filter very toxic powders, etc. (protection against liquid and powder chemicals and for mechanical works), etc.

• Category 3 – Eye protection

Products related to the present category include for example: PROTECTIVE VISORS, POLYCARBONATE GLASSES standard EN166 1F – EN170 2-1.2, PROTECTIVE GOGGLES standard EN166 1F, etc. 3

• Category 4 – Hearing and head protection

Products related to the present category include for example: ANTI-NOISE HEADSETS to alleviate the high frequencies EC EN352-1, HELMETS and SAFETY HATS for head protection, homologated EN 397, etc.

• Category 5 – Safety signage

Products related to the present category include for example: SAFETY and INFORMATION SIGNAGE BOARD with various pictograms, PROHIBITION and MANDATORY SIGNAGE BOARD with various pictograms, etc.

• Category 6 – Protection of work area

Products related to the present category include for example: Safety containers, universal absorbers of work areas, tapes and signs to identify risk areas, rags, absorbent rolls, single use sheets for medical studies, containers for various types of waste, etc.

• Category 7 – Outdoor safety clothing

Products related to the present category include for example: HIGH VISIBILITY UPHOLSTERED JACKET, to be clearly visible EN ISO 20471:3013, EN ISO 13688:2013 EN 343:3003 +A1:2007, ANTI-RAIN JACKET and HIGH VISIBILITY UPHOLSTERED JACKET for cold protection standards EN 342:2004 e EN 343:20008, ISO 13688:2013, etc.

• Category 8 – Clothing and various protective clothing Products related to the present category include for example: FLEECE various sizes, WORK SUIT ROBE for man/woman for minimum and other risks, long/short sleeved POLO-SHIRTS, VESTS, JACKETS, TROUSERS, CLOTHING WITH DEDICATED LOGO, etc.

The JRC has the right to ask the Contractor, at any time, to submit the technical and safety data sheets of the products in reference by e-mail. The Contractor shall send the requested sheets by email within a maximum of 3 (three) calendar days from the date on which the request is sent by the Commission.

With reference to the above materials, a list is drawn up with the lists/catalogues for which the tenderer must offer a discount (Contractor’s financial offer). Such discounts will be applied throughout the duration of the FWC.
