The European Commission is an institution of the European Union, responsible for proposing legislation, implementing decisions, upholding the EU treaties and managing the day-to-day business of the EU.

The European Commission, Joint Research Centre – Ispra (JRC-IPR) is planning to award the contract(s) resulting from the above procurement procedure. The procurement documents consist of the letter of invitation, and the annexes. All documents are available in the enclosed ZIP File.

Objective of the contract

The JRC-Ispra has an extensive water and sewage distribution network, a district heating system and other related facilities (water treatment, filtration, technical rooms, etc.). Some water and sewage lines are quite old and require continuous renovation and maintenance; in most cases, these lines are completely renewed by replacing the entire line with a new one. These lines are often installed underground, buried or in technical tunnels, and are quite long. Furthermore, the construction of new buildings and structures, as well as the willingness of the EC to increase the use of environmentally friendly materials, along with reducing the carbon footprint of the site, leads to a growing need to replace existing lines in order to adapt them to new requirements in terms of capacity and respect for the environment.The aim of the contract will mainly consist in the execution of construction and renovation works of the water and sewerage network.
