Construction of Dandora Estate Wastewater Treatment Plant (DEWWTP) Rehabilitation and Duplication Plant Inlet Works

This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for this project that appeared in 28th February 2019 [Ref AfDB266-02/19].

The Government of Kenya has received financing from the African Development Bank hereinafter called the Bank towards the cost of the Nairobi Rivers Basin Rehabilitation and Restoration Program Phase II-Sewerage Improvement Project; and intends to apply part of the proceeds for Construction of Dandora Estate Wastewater Treatment Plant (DEWWTP) Rehabilitation and Duplication Plant Inlet Works.

The Athi Water Works Development Agency now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for the execution of the following works:

1. Rehabilitation of the DESTW Inlet Works
2. Expansion of the DESTW Inlet Works
3. Rehabilitation works for the Kiu River Sewerage Pumping Station
4. Desludging of DESTW Anaerobic Ponds (including cleaning and removal of hyacinth)
5. Ancillary Works

Bidding will be conducted through the Open Competitive Bidding (International), OCBI procedures as specified in the African Development Bank’s Procurement Framework, and is open to all eligible Bidders as defined in the Procurement Framework.

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the office of The Chief Executive Officer, Athi Water Works Development Agency, and inspect the bidding document during office hours 8.00am to 5.00pm (East African Time) on weekdays except public holidays at the address given below.

The bidding document in English may be purchased by interested eligible Bidders upon the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of KES 1,000.00. The method of payment will be cash or Banker’s Cheque. Tender documents obtained electronically will be free of charge. Documents can also be downloaded from the AWWDA website: http://www.awwda.go.ke and http://www.tenders.go.ke, Bidders who download the bidding document from the website MUST forward their particulars immediately to procurement@awwda.go.ke, for records and any further clarifications and addenda.

Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 12.00pm East African Time on 5th July 2022. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late Bids will be rejected. Bids will be publicly opened in the presence of the Bidders’ designated representatives and anyone who chooses to attend at the address below on 12.05pm East African Time on 5th July 2022.

All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of KES. 2,000,000.00 (Kenya Shillings Two Million Only) in the form of an unconditional bank guarantee.

Attention is drawn to the Procurement Framework requiring the Borrower to disclose information on the successful bidder’s beneficial ownership, as part of the Contract Award Notice, using the Beneficial Ownership Disclosure Form as included in the bidding document.
