Item Description:

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) was conceived in the early 1960s as a financial institution that would be Asian in character and foster economic growth and cooperation in one of the poorest regions in the world.

ADB assists its members, and partners, by providing loans, technical assistance, grants, and equity investments to promote social and economic development.

The Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka has received financing from the ADB towards the cost of Mahaweli Water Security Investment Program (MWSIP) – Tranche 2. Part of this financing will be used for payments under the contracts named above. Bidding is opened to Bidders from eligible source countries of the ADB.

The Ministry of Irrigation (MOI), represented by the Program Director of Program Management Unit (PMU) of MWSIP (“the Purchaser”) on behalf of the Chairman, Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee (SCAPC), invites sealed bids from eligible Bidders for the Supply of 40,000 metric tons (MT) of Muriate of Potash (MOP) for 2022/23 Maha Season Paddy Cultivation (“the Goods”).

International Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB’s Single- Stage: One-Envelope Bidding Procedure and is opened to all Bidders from eligible countries as described in the Bidding Document.
