Construction and Completion of Treated Water Pipeline – Package 2

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) was conceived in the early 1960s as a financial institution that would be Asian in character and foster economic growth and cooperation in one of the poorest regions in the world.

ADB assists its members, and partners, by providing loans, technical assistance, grants, and equity investments to promote social and economic development.

The People’s Republic of Bangladesh has received financing from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) toward the cost of Dhaka Environmentally Sustainable Water Supply Project. Part of this financing will be used for payments under the contract named above. Bidding is open to Bidders from eligible source countries of the ADB.

The Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (DWASA) represented by the Project Director, Dhaka Environmentally Sustainable Water Supply Project (DESWSP), (the Employer) invites sealed bids from eligible Bidders for the construction and completion of “Treated Water Pipeline”. The works comprise construction of the treated water pipelines which will transfer potable water from the new Gandharbpur water treatment plant (to be built under Package 1 of DESWSP) to the primary distribution pipeline network in Dhaka City near Natun Bazar at Vatara Junction. Environmental and Social management aspects also form a component of the project. Construction period is 1095 days.

International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB’s Single- Stage: Two-Envelope bidding procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries as described in the bidding document.
