The Asian Development Bank (ADB) was conceived in the early 1960s as a financial institution that would be Asian in character and foster economic growth and cooperation in one of the poorest regions in the world.

ADB assists its members, and partners, by providing loans, technical assistance, grants, and equity investments to promote social and economic development.

The Islamic Republic of Pakistan has received financing from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) toward the cost of Jalalpur Irrigation Project. Part of this financing will be used for payments under the contract named above. Bidding is open to Bidders from eligible source countries of ADB.

The Punjab Irrigation Department (“the Employer”) represented by the Project Director, Project Management Office (PMO), Canals invites sealed bids from eligible Bidders for the construction and completion of the works, as specified in the Bidding Documents.

The construction works mainly comprise: Main Canal including Distribution System and Structures along with Flood Carrier Channels, Cross Drainage Structures, Road Bridges, Distributaries Head Regulators and Cross Regulators. The completion period is 48 months.

International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB’s Single- Stage: Two-Envelope bidding procedure and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as described in the Bidding Document.
