Construction Works for Kitui and Matuu Towns Last Mile Connectivity of Water and Sanitation in Tanathi Water Services Board Area

This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for this project that appeared in UNDB online on 31st March 2017.

The Government of Kenya has received Financing from the African Development Bank in various currencies towards the cost of Kenya Towns Sustainable Water Supply and Sanitation Program. It is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for Construction for Kitui and Matuu Towns Last Mile Connectivity of Water and Sanitation.

The Athi Water Services Board now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the execution of the following works under one contract:

Kitui water and Sanitation Component

a) Water Component

• Construction of distribution lines 40km in Kitui Town and environs
• Rehabilitation of the old Masinga Kitui Pipeline and existing water distribution network
• Drilling and equipping of boreholes and Construction of Water Kiosks
• Construction of intake weir.
• Development of infiltration galleries with a 400 m3 sump
• Construction of a new 150m3 tank

b) Sewerage Component

• Construction of 40km Lateral lines, manholes and individual connections to existing main sewer lines
• Upgrading and repair of 2 No. sewer pumps and 2 no. sewer houses and rehabilitation of existing sewerage network
• Reconstruction of the 3000 m DN 675mm & DN 600mm Kangoki Sewer.

c) Matuu water and Sanitation Component

• A 4000 m3/day conventional horizontal flow Water Treatment works
• Construction of 120 Km HDPE Pipelines ranging from DN 32 mm to 400 mm 1

A Prebid meeting and Site Visit will take place on 19th February, 2019 starting at 09:00am (East African Time). The venue for the Pre-Bid site visit meeting will be at the Tanathi Water Services Board Offices in Kitui town, K.I.D.P building, Kalawa Rd.

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding documents at the office of The Chief Executive Officer, Athi Water Services Board, Africa Re-Centre, Hospital Rd, P.O. Box 45283-00100 Nairobi, Kenya during the office hours from 08:00am to 05:00pm (East African Time) on weekdays (Monday to Friday).

A complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the above and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of KES. 1,000 (Kenya Shillings One Thousand Only).

The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions of Contract are the provisions of the African Development Bank Standard Bidding Document: Procurement of Works.
