Item Description:
The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) or Banque Africaine de Développement (BAD) is a multilateral development finance institution. The AfDB was founded in 1964 and comprises three entities: The African Development Bank, the African Development Fund and the Nigeria Trust Fund. The AfDB’s mission is to fight poverty and improve living conditions on the continent through promoting the investment of public and private capital in projects and programs that are likely to contribute to the economic and social development of the region. The AfDB is a financial provider to African governments and private companies investing in the regional member countries (RMC).
Request for Expressions of interest
The Government of Uganda has received financing from the Global Environment Facility through its implementing agency African Development Bank towards the cost of implementing Strengthening the Adaptive Capacity and Resilience of Communities in Uganda’s watersheds project- Awoja Catchment (SACRiAC) in Eastern Uganda, and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this grant to payments under the contract for Consultancy Services for Design Review and Construction Supervision of Water Supply Systems and Valley Tanks under the SACRiAC Project.
The services under this consultancy shall include:
To undertake the Design Review and Supervision of 6 Water Supply Systems and 10 Valley Tanks.
Specifically, the services to be provided under this consultancy is to undertake Design Review and Construction Supervision of Climate resilient infrastructural development (civil works) through prudent contracts management, ensure conformity and compliance to design specifications, design modifications, quality control and assurance, adherence to the Environmental and Social safeguard policies and requirements and performance monitoring for the infrastructure during defects period
The consultancy is expected to be executed within the period 40 months from commencement to include Design Review and Construction Supervision.
The Ministry of Water and Environment now invites eligible Consultancy firms to indicate interest in providing these services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may constitute joint- ventures to enhance their chances of qualification.
Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the “Bank’s Procurement Policy for Bank Group Funded Operations, dated October 2015”, which is available on the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org.
