Item Description:

The European Environment Agency (EEA) is a European Union public body governed by Regulation (EC) No 401/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 April 2009 .

The role of the EEA is to support the European Union in the development and implementation of environmental policy by providing relevant, reliable, targeted and timely information on the state of the environment and future prospects.

Subject of the contract

The purpose of this contract is to undertake to following 2 tasks:

• design, development, deployment and population of the Copernicus land portal,
• provision of consultancy services relating to operations and maintenance, content and data management, user support and further limited developments of the Copernicus land portal.

The Copernicus land portal shall focus on providing a single entry point to data and services in the whole portfolio of CLMS increasing data interaction utilities. Therefore a series of new requirements need to be addressed, i.e. data discovery, visualisation, interaction and data delivery. In addition to data related functionalities, the portal shall also be an effective communication platform about CLMS and data and services it provides, which should help in targeting a wide range of users and stakeholders from both the public and private sector, to ensure broad-scale uptake of CLMS.
