Design, Supply, Installation and Commissioning of Modular Portable Containerized Solar-PV System for various UN Mission Locations

Most of UN field missions, expecially the ones located in remote places, mainly rely on generators for the provision of energy to civilian and military camps. This solution has an high impact on both financial and environmetal resouses.
Considering that:

• generators emit particulate matter containing burnt hydrocarbons and oxides of nitrogen, which add to air pollution
• the price of diesel will continue to rise due to regulations
• generators need regular maintenance to keep them running
• fuel injection system and other parts are more likely to break down, resulting in lack of reliability and high costs for spare parts

The United Nations would like to assess if Modular Portable Containerized Solar-PV Systems could represent a valid alternative to generators and other conventional existing systems with focus on innovation and incorporation of new technologies practices for living and working well-being.
